PCS-821 GRIP-TITE
EPOXY FLOOR FINISH
DESCRIPTION: A two-component, self-leveling, high solids, epoxy finish designed for floors and other concrete surfaces combining extremely good abrasion and chemical resistance with both aesthetic and durable properties. Grip-Tite may be applied to damp surfaces if any liquid water is first removed; it contains a special solvent blend to facilitate the displacement of moisture contained in pores and crevices.
SURFACE PREPARATION: Concrete and masonry surfaces can be exceptionally difficult to prepare properly because of the ability to absorb all kinds of contaminants. See “Cement and Related Products, Preparation for Coating” for details. The use of PCS-803 Grip-Tite Epoxy Primer should follow the selected method of surface preparation.
MIXING: Mix equal volumes of Base and Hardener for at least five minutes to insure thorough blending.
THINNING: Normally not required. For spray application, use REDUCER #76 sparingly if necessary.
APPLICATION: PCS-821 is generally applied by roller, but may be applied by brush or spray if necessary. Cure time will be extended at temperatures under 50oF or with heavier films.
CLEAN-UP: REDUCER #R76
ANTISKID PROPERTIES: PCS-821 cures to a tough smooth surface that is potentially hazardous due to slipping if surface becomes wet with liquids. Anti-skid properties may be obtained by broadcasting Ottowa sand, Carborun-dum, aluminum oxide, or crushed walnut shells into the second coat while it is still wet.
CAUTIONS: Flammable mixture. Contains solvents. Keep away from heat, sparks, and flame. Use only with adequate ventilation. AVOID PROLONGED BREATHING OF VAPORS. AVOID PROLONGED OR REPEATED CONTACT WITH SKIN. Keep containers closed when not in use. If used in confined areas, observe the following precautions to prevent hazards of fire or explosions or damage to health: (1) circulate adequate fresh air continuously during application and drying; (2) use fresh air masks and explosion-proof equipment; (3) prohibit all flames, sparks, welding, and smoking near area.
If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Call a physician immediately. For eye contact, flush with lots of water. In case of skin contact, wash thoroughly with soap and water.
See material safety data sheets for full precautions prior to use.
