PCS-9010
DIRECT TO METAL
INDUSTRIAL ENAMEL
DESCRIPTION: PCS-9010 is an extremely versatile alkyd enamel. It has been modified to give fast dry times without the problems of embrittlement and poor adhesion generally associated with fast dry products of this type.
USES: PCS-9010 is used to coat machinery, fabricated steel, fences, signs, structural steel, and is a general maintenance finish where moderate industrial atmospheres exist. It has good resistance to high humidity. Not suitable for splash or spillage with alkaline products.
SURFACE PREPARATION: Minimal surface preparation is required. Generally solvent wiping is sufficient. However, as with all products, better performance is gained utilizing more thorough surface preparation techniques.
MIXING: Stir thoroughly before use.
THINNING: Generally no thinning is necessary. Suggested spray viscosities are as follows:
Airless: 27-32 Sec. #2 Zahn
Conventional: 24-29 Sec. #2 Zahn
In dipping applications, dilute 1 to 1 with Xylene.
APPLICATION: This product is designed primarily for conventional or airless spray applications. Excellent results have also been achieved in dipping applications when properly thinned.
CLEAN UP: Xylene is usually sufficient if clean-up is required on equipment. With fully cured product, MEK may be necessary for cleaning.
CAUTIONS: Flammable mixture. Contains solvents. Keep away from heat, sparks, and flame. Use only with adequate ventilation. AVOID PROLONGED BREATHING OF VAPORS. AVOID PROLONGED OR REPEATED CONTACT WITH SKIN. Keep containers closed when not in use. If used in confined areas, observe the following precautions to prevent hazards of fire or explosions or damage to health: (1) circulate adequate fresh air continuously during application and drying; (2) use fresh air masks and explosion-proof equipment; (3) prohibit all flames, sparks, welding, and smoking near area.
If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Call a physician immediately. For eye contact, flush with lots of water. In case of skin contact, wash thoroughly with soap and water.
See material safety data sheets for full precautions prior to use.
